No. Really. I am so completely terrible at following through on things sometimes. This whole process started off really great, then all went to shit a few months in. And then my Irish-ness kicked in and I pushed it waaaaay down into the "this never happened" section of my brain. I'm sure some of my buds can relate to that feeling.
I've pretty much come to the realization that my life is and always will be, a shit show. There isn't going to be a day that goes by that I'm not stressed about something, or worried about this, that and the other thing. There are always going to be problems, big and small, that I face every day. I just need to figure out how to deal with them better so I can balance my life a little better. I'm honestly ok with my life being a shit show, it makes for a lot of laughs and the things that are bad just make me a stronger person.
Between family, work, friends, derby, my on-again off-again relationship -- my plate is always pretty full. I just need to find some time everyday to do something
It would have been super easy to just delete this blog and start something fresh. But I need to see and feel the shame that is my abandoned blog. I need to see my feels. And just fucking get over the pity party and get my shit together.
So, I've taken a few steps towards doing this.
1.) Still completely vegetarian, no meat/fish and I went vegan for about a month and a half so I know I have the capability to have some sort of will power. I also bought a sweet juicer, bro. So I've been trying to incorporate that into my diet as much as I can.
2.) My friend Nicole and I just signed up for the Warrior Dash for June. This is basically a 5K obstacle course. Jumping over fire? No big deal. Army crawling through mud? Fuck you, that sounds AWESOME. Realistically it might be the dumbest thing I'm ever going to do, but I want to do it because it's motivation for me to get my ass back in some semblance of shape. I'm looking forward to getting my ass kicked over the next few months.

3.) I signed up for my FIRST EVER yoga class tonight. I'm not really nervous about it, but I know this isn't something I'm going to own. I have zero flexibility, I'm loud, I have no idea how to really fucking relax -- I'm not sure if this is going to help me, or just annoy the shit out of me. Either way, I'm willing to give it a shot and try it out. What I've really learned about myself is I do WAY better working out with groups, or in classes. I basically just need someone to tell me what to do, and I'll do it. I'm not great at working out on my own.
I'm at that point again where I need to start feeling good about myself, and I don't. I mean, I feel great about myself as a person (Jesus, who WOULDN'T like me?), but I'm not psyched on my body. And I've been really bad about getting back into the swing of things. The biggest problem for me is that our derby schedule changes week to week, and we don't normally find out what days we practice until the week of. So scheduling workouts for the month, like I did back in June really doesn't work. I'm going to need to make an extra effort to really plan out my week and figure out what I can squeeze in for workouts, or I'm fucked.
